How do you prepare for your first float?

  • Eat a light meal 1-2 hours before
  • Remove your contact lenses
  • Do not drink caffeine or smoke cigarettes for a few hours before
  • Do not drink alcohol or do drugs
  • Do not take any sleep aids or medications that may cause drowsiness or dizziness
  • Do not shave or wax for 12 hours before
  • Do not dye or perm your hair within four weeks of your float. Red hair dye and other bright colors may take longer than four weeks to be okay for floating
  • Do not get a spray tan
  • Remove jewelry
  • Put long hair in a tie
